Grok Bot is a separate app. You give a named Bot a job. It sits on a cloud computer, it can open the tools you already use, and it can keep going after you close the laptop.

Same word, three products
Grok on grok.com or on X is chat. You type, it answers. Fine product. Different product.
In Cursor, Grok is also a model name in the list. That’s the editor. Still not this app.
Grok Bot is the app at x.ai/bot. Mac, Windows, iPhone on iOS 18. You message a Bot the way you’d message a teammate. It has a computer in the cloud. Browser, files, terminal.
What it actually is
You name a Bot and you give it work. Every Bot on your account shares one computer. Not one machine each. Logins and files live on that computer. A second Bot is not a vault. The docs say that plainly.
If the tool has a connector, use the connector. In the app those show up as Plugins. If it doesn’t, the Bot clicks through the site like you would.
Passwords and 2FA still come back to you. I type those. An approval does not undo work that already finished. That’s the sentence I’d want before anyone signed a Bot into Gmail.
It’s early beta. You sign in with Cursor. From 26 Aug 2026 it comes with SuperGrok and with Cursor plans. There isn’t a separate Grok Bot product to buy. I don’t have a published weekly allowance, so I won’t invent one.
No Linux desktop app. No Android. No iPad. The cloud computer itself is Linux. That’s a different sentence.
A skill is how to do a job. A routine is when it runs. I keep those two apart so I don’t schedule a mess I haven’t seen finish once.
What I actually read
I skipped the recap posts. They mix the chat, the coding CLI, and this app.
I opened x.ai/bot first. That’s what they call it today.
Then the 11 Aug launch, Introducing Grok Bot. Then Grok Bot is now included with more plans from 26 Aug, because access changed twice in two weeks and the old articles were already wrong.
For the shared computer, Computer and apps. For the login scare, Approvals, security, and privacy. The FAQ is where they say Linux desktop and Android are out.
